Lymphoedema is a chronic (long-term) condition that causes damage or disruption to the body's lymphatic system resulting in tissue swelling, pain and loss of mobility.
There are two main types of Lymphoedema:
Primary lymphoedema, an hereditary condition present from birth as a result of improper development of the lymphatic system..
Secondary lymphoedema, is caused by damage to the lymphatic system as a result of an infection, injury, trauma or cancer treatment.
Based in Rathfarnham in South Dublin, practice founder and lead lymphoedema therapist Fiona Crilly-Mitchel trained at the world renowned European Centre for Lymphology (Foeldi Clinic) in Hinterzarten, Germany.
Fiona provides an experienced, caring and discreet service to lymphoedema patients at all levels in the Dublin City and Country areas.
The service is fully synchronised with all existing treatment programmes that the lymphoedema patients may be undertaking when treatment commences.
